Italian, raised in Florence, she has lived abroad a lot over the years, but now seems to have settled in the wild countryside of southern Tuscany, where human presence is scarce and silence is great.
Her background comes from the children's illustration world.
Over the years it has become clear to her that her illustrations were not 'for children', but were born out of the need to express her personal childhood experience in which the adult was often a disturbing element, sometimes a sheltering one.
In her work she looks for an emotional state, often in childhood memories, but also in the very small things of everyday life, gestures, a kind of gaze, see- mingly insignificant things, a spoken sentence, the sight of animals in nature, the relationship with them.
The adult human figure is almost always present, often more as a helpless observer.
Children, animals and sometimes angels with little power, with tiny wings, sometimes even without wings, are frequent in her work. They are presences united by their inability to pretend to be anything other than what they are.
She works on paper with mixed media, mainly oil and graphite.
