Black beach
Before moving to Florence, my family and I lived in a small seaside village on the coast near Rome.
The particularity of that beach, black, is that it is a predominantly iron beach.
For a long time I believed that beaches were naturally black.
Among my earliest memories were the mild winter Sundays on that beach, eating cold roast chicken..
